Kevin R. Slates is a Rear Admiral in the United States Navy.
Slates joined the Navy in 1982.[1] During the Gulf War, he was assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force. Later, he was assigned to the Naval Surface Warfare Center. From 1999 to 2001, he was in command of NMCB 3. During his time in command he would serve overseas in support of the Kosovo Force. Following this assignment, he was given command of the NFESC. In 2002, he was assigned to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
Awards he has received include the Legion of Merit with two award stars, the Meritorious Service Medal with award star, the Navy Commendation Medal with silver award star, and the Navy Achievement Medal.
